5th grade GT students and one 6th grade GT student attended Engineering Day on September 30 at the SE Co-op. They worked as emergency response teams to a natural disaster (flooding) in a fictional Arkansas county. They had to plan and build a structure that would prevent their home from being flooded. They also had to design a bridge that could withstand the weight of an emergency vehicle. They worked with students from other SE area schools.
