Slang is a strange thing, isn’t it? It seems to change all of the time, and yet everyone younger than you stays in the loop somehow. I am not entirely sure how they do it either, honestly. That’s why I’ve compiled a list of the ones that I’ve heard recently and put definitions and parts of speech to them, organized most to least common.
Six Seven
Interjection
This one’s a bit odd because it doesn’t really have any meaning. It’s more like an inside joke than anything.
GOAT
Adjective
An acronym for “Greatest Of All Time.” Used as a compliment.
Sigma
Adjective
Something cool, great, or high ranking. Used as a compliment.
Yeet
Interjection, Verb
To throw with a lot of force. It is also a bit like Six Seven due to it being fun to say or yell.
Skibidi
Adjective
Usually used to describe something as cool or neat, but can also describe something as bad or lame.
Slay
Interjection, Adjective
To be really good at something. Can also be used to describe something as cool.
Fire
Adjective
Used to describe something as cool or fun.
Period
Interjection, Adjective
Said at the end of a sentence to further solidify the point of the sentence. Kind of like saying you won’t change your mind on that statement.
Cap
Adjective
Not true or a lie.
Sus
Adjective
Short for suspicious.
Rizz
Noun
Short for charisma. Someone with a lot of rizz would be described as a rizzler.
Drip
Noun
A cool outfit or clothing style.
Bussin
Adjective
Cool or great.
Lit
Adjective
Can be used to describe something as cool or fun.
I hope this list was helpful in figuring out “what the kids are saying nowadays.” It’s not a complete list, but this is a good starting point.
