On October 25, 2025, the Monticello Billies Cross Country team didn't just host the annual SEACC All-Conference Championships at the Monticello Sports Complex—they conquered it. Under the passionate guidance of Coach Brandon Weekley, the very air of the course seemed to inspire the athletes, resulting in a remarkable feat: every single runner achieved a personal best time in every division.

Though small in number, the Billies ran with a giant's spirit. In the junior divisions, individual brilliance shone brightly. Bella Perez flew through the two-mile course with a personal record of 14:15, claiming a stunning 2nd place among 35 competitors. Matching her fire was Gavin Prince, who blazed across the finish line in 12:33 to also seize 2nd place out of 34.

The senior girls battled fiercely to earn a triumphant 3rd place finish against 13 other teams. Liyah Young led the charge, securing 4th place overall in the 5K with a time of 22:58, closely followed by the phenomenal Sally Perez, who took 5th place in 23:29.

The senior boys closed the day with tremendous power, securing a magnificent 2nd place finish against 13 teams. Cody Stewart paced the team with a leading time of 18:19, claiming 4th place. A special commendation belongs to Joseph Rojas, who, in his debut 5K race, achieved an incredible 6th place finish in 19:23.

The season’s journey continues! The Senior Boys, along with Sally Perez and Liyah Young, have punched their tickets and will carry the Billies' banner to the Arkansas State XC Meet on November 6th in Hot Springs.
