Precision is the watchword across the OEC shop. Students recently completed a challenging project: fabricating a custom-designed specialty wrench on the vertical milling machine. This effort proved the value of collaboration, as the design process was a joint effort with Mr. Gilliam, reinforcing that good collaboration is key to great fabrication.

Another student displayed meticulous attention to detail while working on a critical component for their custom-made meat tenderizer project. Using a fly cutter on the vertical milling machine, the student diligently squared a 2D block precisely. This hands-on process of crafting custom components highlights the depth of skill and practical application learned within the program.

These projects underscore the OEC's commitment to equipping students with the ability to design and fabricate specialized tools—moving beyond "off-the-shelf" solutions to pure skill-based creation. "Precision in Progress at the OEC!" ⚙️
