The overall objective of the Monticello Occupational
Education Center is to provide learning activities for all students to
gain the knowledge and the competencies needed to enter and to advance
in their selected occupational areas:
- By providing learning activities for secondary school students
in our service area who are enrolled for study in preparation for
entering the labor market so that the graduate may:
Perform at acceptable job entry levels in a given area
of training.
Have respect for their fellow employees and employers.
Become useful and productive citizens in the community.
- By developing communication skills that will enable the student
to interpret and transmit information orally and writing.
- By developing through understanding in the use of materials,
processes, procedures, equipment and techniques used to perform the
work in a chosen occupation.
- By providing a background so that the individual may continue to
grow and improve his or her technical knowledge and skills after he
or she begins employment, or continues his or her education in one
of the Post Secondary Vocational Technical Schools, colleges, or
universities.
- By providing learning activities and special help for persons
who have special needs and/or handicapped and who would profit from
vocational training.
