Prepares it’s graduates for the beginning level of employment as machinists, machine operators, sheet metal workers, riveters, and welders. Elements of instruction include making computation relation to working dimensions, tooling feeds and speeds of machining, making layouts, blue print reading, estimating materials, and study of characteristics of various metals. Shop experience includes operation of metal machine tools such as, lathes, drill presses, milling machines, metal saws, grinders, welders, and numerous kinds of sheet metal equipment. Supplementary training is offered in technical mathematics, safety and shop management.
