WELCOME to the technical opportunities that await you at your Monticello Occupational Education Center. The OEC is open to students enrolled in the ninth through the twelfth grades at Drew Central, Monticello, or one of the other area high schools served by the Center who has by school board action formally agreed to participate in the program. There are no charges to students for taking courses at the Center. Participating schools pay tuition based on the number of students served.  A satellite program will be started in the Fall of 2005 in Dermott.  This will serve Dermott, McGehee, and Lake Village students.

The overall objective of the Monticello Occupational Education Center is to provide learning activities for all students to gain the knowledge and the competencies needed to enter and advance in their selected occupational areas.  By providing these learning activities for secondary school students in our service area, graduates will be better prepared when entering the labor market to:

  • Perform at acceptable job entry levels in a given area of training.

  • Have respect for their fellow employees and employers.

  • Become useful and productive citizens in the community.

    Drafting & Design

    Machine Tool Technology
    Welding
