MMS is a North Central Accredited School, which houses approximately 450 students in grades sixth through eighth. In August, Monticello Middle School received notice from the Arkansas Department of Education of meeting “adequate yearly progress” for the entire school population (Combined Population) and all subgroups (African American, Caucasian, Economically Disadvantaged, and Students with Disabilities) for the second consecutive year. As a result, Monticello Middle School has been removed from the state’s School Improvement list. Your help and vigilance in encouraging our young adolescents to remain focused on their academic progress is greatly needed and very much appreciated. Having all our students actively engaged in the learning process for the entire school year will continue to play a vital role in our school’s success. Together, we are building a high-performing middle school that increases the opportunities for all our students, a middle school that is rich in student achievement and academic tradition.
