Welcome to the C. I. V. LAB !
Students see and hear their distance-learning teacher and other classes in realtime! Questions may be asked and answered immediately. MHS students may interact with students from other schools as they take the course together. This is a wonderful opportunity for our students to take upper-level high school courses and college-level courses while still in high school! (In order for students to take college-level classes, they must have scored a 19 on the corresponding portion(s) of the ACT or a passing score on the COMPASS test.) This year we will be offering the following courses:
Survey of Math This is a college level course that will fulfill the college math requirement for students who are not majoring in math or science.
AP Calculus This is a college-level course and students who complete the course will receive five hours credit for college Calculus.
Journalism This will be an intense study in journalism. Students will use the internet and other sources, write articles, and produce at least two issues of a school newspaper!
College Algebra This class is required for many college majors. Students who are qualified may take this class for college credit at MHS!
Elementary Spanish I &II This is college-level Spanish. Students who take this course must have completed high school Spanish I and II.
Physics This will be a high school Physics course. Students taking this course must be enrolled in or have completed Trigonometry.
